A Few Updates and a Lot of Little Stuff

Friday afternoon Adam came home from work early, so we dropped the kids off at a friends house and went shopping for a mini-van. It was sort of fun, but a little chilly. We had a lot to choose from, but only test drove one. That one had mostly what we wanted overall in a mini-van including a decent price tag. It wasn't as decked out as some of the other models, but it still had nice features. So, we decided to see if we could actually get a loan. We weren't sure if we could or not because we don't have the greatest credit, but we felt it was worth a try. We filled out papers and went home. Saturday morning we got a call from the guy at the dealership telling us that we got a loan and asked us if we still wanted the mini-van. Of, course we weren't going to turn it down because in a few weeks our family would not all fit in our green Nissan. So, we went down and signed more papers then traded in the Nissan and drove off in our brand new 2008 Chrystler Town & Country. (Well, it is new, but because it was a test model and was considered used, so that is how we got a better deal on it. Still had less than 500 miles on it though.)

Let me just say that: I totally Love my new Van!

Some of it's best features are: the stow-n-go seating for both the second and third row seats. The dvd player so the kids can watch movies while we travel. It also has a rear-view camera so you can see what is behind you when you back-up. Satellite radio and a 20 gig hard drive to download your own music into the van. Not to mention it is dark blue, just the color I wanted!
There are a couple things I don't really like: it doesn't have power mirrors and the interior is a tan color (I wish it were a dark color.) Not to mention it barely fits in the garage. There is about a foot on each end of the van if you park it right which is better than leaving it outside. But overall it is nice.

I don't miss the Nissian one bit! It got us around, but we also had a lot of headaches with it. Now with the new van I don't have to wonder if it will start on those really cold mornings to get Makayla to the bus stop. I know it will! Having it already is also one thing I won't have to worry about before the baby comes. Yeah!!!

A Couple Short Stories:

While we were at the dealership I took Austin to see the new Sky Blue Dodge Charger they had in their showroom. He pointed to the car and said "My Car." He knows when he sees something good. The guy who sold us the van responded with: "We all wish we could have that car."

Also, we put the Disney movie Cars in the van for the kids to watch. Austin thought it was the coolest thing that he could watch movies in the van. He had one finger in his mouth and watched the movie for at least fifteen minutes before moving then wasn't long before he kicked off his shoes. When we got home the movie wasn't over yet and Adam had to sit in the van with Austin until the movie was over before he would get out. Why would he want to get out? He has a nice comfortable seat and on-the-go entertainment!

In other news:

Adam is back to working long hours. He left on a job around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning and ended-up having another job right after that. We finally got to see him today. He is trying to catch some sleep before he has to leave again tonight for another job. I was really starting to miss him, so I am glad that I was able to talk to him for a little while before he went to bed.


I had another doctor's appointment today. My doctor was happy to see that I looked so much better than last week. I told her that I have felt pretty good since last Tuesday which is the truth. She measured my tummy and we listened to the baby's heart rate. All is good.
She did tell me that I am basically at 35 weeks (technically I am only at 34 weeks, but I am not going to argue), so now if I do go into labor they won't try to stop it. She didn't go as far as to move my due date up a week, but I think she also expects that our little guy will come before then anyway.

As for the girls:

Yesterday, Makayla had a snow day and was home from school. It was the first snow day in Grand Junction in 20 years! That is amazing considering I would have been around Makayla's age the last time they had one. We only got about two inches which have already melted, so I was a little surprised that they canceled school. I guess other parts of the school district got a lot more and that is why they made it a snow day. No news yet if and when they will have to make it up.


Kelseanja is turning into my little helper. (Sometimes even more than Makayla.) Whenever I ask Kelsea to help pick up toys she rushes around really fast and cleans up. I have nicked named her "Speedy." She even told her sister that she is "Speedy." I like having a new little helper!
