Fourth of July 2009

For the Fourth of July we went to the parade (which left something to be desired), but at least we can say that we have been to a parade here now. After the parade, we came home and had a little BBQ in the back yard. Then we went out front and watched the fireworks that Adam and the neighbors lit. The three older kids loves the popping ones that they could throw on the ground. Jaxton was so cute and kept saying "Wow!" and "Oooh" at the fireworks. We put him in the back of the neighbor's truck because he wanted to help Daddy light the fireworks. Like father like son. Eventually, he kept trying to get out of the truck too, so I had to strap him into his booster. Our fireworks display ended about the time the city fireworks started. So we hurried and got in the van and found a place nearby where we watched the fireworks display, which was so much better than the parade. When that was over we went home and let the kids do sparklers. Sparklers have been a tradition in my family growing up and I wanted to keep the tradition going, so I was glad that I took the extra effort to find the sparklers this year. I would have been in trouble if I didn't because the kids remembered doing them last year. We all had fun and can't wait to see what next year brings. We are truly blessed to have the freedoms we do and to live in a land where so many sacrifice themselves to keep our great country free (or at least freer than other countries). May God Bless America!
