Fun With Jenny & Riyo

Yesterday, Aunt Jenny and Uncle Riyo came to visit. Since it was a really nice day, we all decided to go to the park. Jenny and Riyo chased the kids around, went down slides, played tag, and pushed the kids in the swings. Adam played with Jaxton and I took pictures. (Jenny took a few too.) Jaxton fell asleep in the swing and after a very small nap was ready to go again. Adam took him down the slide a couple times and Jaxton really liked it! He also liked the tunnel with the holes. He would crawl to one side then turn around and crawl back. He would get mad if any onther kid was in the tunnel, but as long as it was just him he had fun. We were sure that the kids would go to sleep really good when we got home. And they did, except Austin who we couldn't get to even stay in bed until we went to bed too. Overall, though the evening was quite enjoyable. The kids can't wait to play with Jenny and Riyo again! (Park pictures are in the slideshow.)

Weekend Visit to Vernal

Trees in Mom and Dad's front yard

This weekend we went to Vernal and had a lot of fun. Friday we stopped and visited Grandma & Grandpa Sessions and also went to Jensen for the Pumpkin Festival. It was pretty good this year. There were several pumpkin displays celebrating other holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. They even had a whole wedding ceremony display. After looking at the pumpkins, we let the kids play and got hot chocolate and soup. When everyone was finished we let the kids play in the hay-bale maze. They loved it! I think more than seeing the pumpkins.

Friday night, Jaxton who is teething, wouldn't sleep so I couldn't sleep either. Even Austin woke-up a few times so basically it was a rough night. By the time I was able to get Jaxton to sleep the sun was coming up. I ended up sleeping on the couch until about noon. Then I had a headache for awhile so we didn't do very much Saturday. Around 5:20 a.m. Saturday morning, my dad who was on his way to SLC for his drill weekend with the Army Reserves, called to tell my mom that he had hit some rocks in Daniel's Canyon and had messed up his tires and his car pretty bad. So my mom had to go rescue him. Those darn rocks had it in for my family this weekend. Saturday evening I took the kids and Kaloni to walk around the Vernal Temple. It had been awhile since we had been there. In fact it was Jaxton's first trip to the temple. Of course I took pictures. We made another stop to see G & G Sessions, but Jaxton was so grumpy that we didn't stay very long. I will be grateful when his teeth are all in! Sunday, after church and dinner (which was very good by the way, thanks Mom and Dad) we came home. Sad we had to leave, but happy to be home at the same time. It is always good to spend time with family even if the trip seems too short.

Here are more images from the weekend: Grandpa Rob after re-wrapping Austin's hand, Austin opening b-day present from grandparents and Kaloni, my gift, and Jaxton all tuckered out!

Austin's Finger

This afternoon, just about ten minutes before the kids and I were about to leave town to go to Vernal, Austin started screaming. He was outside playing and somehow he managed to smash his pinky finger under a rock. (He got it stuck between a rock and a hard place.) Anyway, his finger swelled to about three or four times it normal size and I decided that it was probably broke. So, I took him to the ER and they x-rayed it and it is broken. On the up side Austin and I was able to spend some one-on-one time while waiting. We played with the two little toys that the nurse gave him. I know that the ER isn't the ideal place to spend some fun time with your child, but it was fun and it kept him busy. You wouldn't have even known that his finger even hurt him. Even now it doesn't act like it bothers him. After x-rays, they put his finger in a splint and wrapped his hand, so now he can only use one hand for awhile. We are still planning on going to Vernal tomorrow.

His poor swollen finger

It is really hard to see, but he has a Y shaped fracture that is really close to the joint. We will know more after the orthopeditc doctor looks at it.

This is the rock he smashed his finger under by the way
(I have no idea where this rock came from. I think the kids found it while riding their bikes today.)

Austin's 3rd B-day

October 4th was Austin's 3rd Birthday. The greater part of the day we watched General Conference, but after that we had a little party for him. He loved it! It is hard to believe that he is already 3. Over the past three years he has gone from a cute, but difficult baby to a easygoing joyful little boy. We love him very much and look forward to watching him continue to learn and grow. Happy Birthday son!

Sunrise-7:33 am

This morning I shared a special experience with Makayla. While waiting for her bus to come I pointed to the mountain showing her the first sliver of the morning sun gradually moving up into the sky. We sat in awe for the next minute or two watching the sun "wake-up". It only lasted for a moment, but now my daughter can say that she has watched the sunrise with Mommy. How awesome is that! When the sun was fully up Makayla made a comment on how 'bright' it was and then the bus came. But how often do we get caught-up in the routine of daily lives that we forget to stop and remember how blessed we are that God gave us such a beautiful place to live in. And then he gave us a family to share this beautiful place with. To share life's little moments with. Even for only a quick two minutes at the start of a busy, but beautiful day.

Introducing My New Photo Blog

Introducing my new blog! Jennie's Photo Frenzy. I just started it today. I will post photos of things I have taken pictures of such as landscapes, flowers, bugs, or anything else that I happen to take a snapshot of. Some really good some not I will let you decide on that. Anyway, I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think. I would love to hear from you.
