Jaxton is now a week old and has changed so much already (as newborns always do). So I thought it was time to post some new pictures. (You can click on the 'Baby Mine' song in the music player on the left to listen to while enjoying updates about Jaxton. I love this song!)

The name 'Jaxton' means 'full of personality' and through this week we have already seen some of his personality come through. Jaxton is a good little eater. He loves to eat, so much in fact that if he isn't sleeping he wants to be eating. He lets me know this right away too. As soon as he is awake he is crying for food. He also loves car rides, being held, and being wide awake at early morning hours (like most babies). He hates diaper changes, hiccups, sponge baths, and burping (like most babies). He is starting to spend more time awake looking around and listening. He also sometimes sucks his thumb. (So far though Kelsea has been our pro thumb sucker. She had it figured out before she was even born and she is still sucking her thumb. Not as often as she used to though.) Anyway, I love watching Jaxton sleep and pull all sorts of faces. The quick smiles, are of course, my favorites, but I have yet to catch one with the camera. I also love when I can take a picture of Jaxton awake.

3/13/08 Handsome Boy!

A couple of days ago we finally decided that Kelsea and Austin were well enough to finally hold their baby brother. They were so excited! Austin held him first. He was so cute giving his brother loves. Then he didn't want to let his brother go even though Jaxton was crying. "No, my brother!" He kept saying. Austin is already protective of his brother. I have a feeling they are going to be best buddies.

Kelsea's little faced lit up when it was her turn to hold Jaxton. She had been waiting so long to finally have the baby "out of mommy's tummy." She has already been a big helper bringing diapers and holding him. I have been calling her my 'Little Mommy'. Note: Jaxton is sucking his thumb.

Makayla got a chance to hold Jaxton the day we came home from the hospital because she wasn't sick. A couple times Makayla would see me without Jaxton and she would ask: "Mommy, do you know where the baby is?" I would just laugh and tell her that he was sleeping in his bed.

Makayla has been in Vernal with her grandparents since Sunday. It is Spring Break for her, so she was able to go visiting for the week. She has been having fun there and even got a chance to play with a friend of hers.

Tomorrow, Makayla is coming home then on Tuesday, school starts again. Somehow I think that next week will be a lot crazier than this week. At least Adam is going to still be home a lot to help out. It has been nice having him home. He is the one who has taken care of Kelsea and Austin while they have been sick all while he was sick. It takes one patient, loving dad take on sick kids at all, let alone while they are sick themselves. I love him for doing what he knew needed done even though he wasn't feeling well himself. And now everyone is feeling pretty good again. Now all we need is the weather to warm up and we will be doing great!

Happy One Week Old Jaxton! We Love You!

Baby Is Here!

Announcing the Arrival
of

Jaxton Douglas MacPherson

Born on March 7, 2008 at 8:31 a.m.

His Weight: 8.26 lbs His Length: 20 3/4 inches

We are so happy to finally have our baby here. He is doing well and aside from some back pain and lack of sleep I am doing well too. We came home today which is nice. My mom has been here helping with the kids which has been a great help and stress reliever for me. The hardest part of everything is that Kelsea, Austin, and Daddy have been sick with that bad cold/flu that has been going around. So, we are taking extreme measures to keep the sickness away from Jaxton. Overall, though things are going pretty good.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a little side note: I thought I would mention the profound thing that Kelsea said today after we came home. We were talking about how she used to be a baby once and she replied: "Yes, I was a baby then I grew into myself." If you think about these words we all 'grow into ourselves' a little more every day.

Sunshine!

Well, it has been an interesting week. Last Monday afternoon I was having contractions again. This time they were hard and close together. I timed them for a couple hours then decided to go in because I thought I could be in labor this time. They monitored me for three hours then told me that the contractions weren't putting me in labor and they sent me home. I still had contractions off and on through the night, but by morning they were gone. Since then I haven't had hardly any contractions. It is strange how I seem to get an onset of contractions then nothing. This last time I was relieved because Adam's work sent him to Texas from Tuesday to Friday for a class. I didn't really want to just have a new baby then have him leave.

My mom came and helped out a whole lot while he was gone. (Thank Heaven for Mothers!) My sister also came and it was really nice to have them visit even if our new addition hadn't came yet. My mom and sister left on Saturday also taking Kelsea and Austin with them so it has been pretty quiet around the house the last few days. I am expecting my mom to come back with the kids tomorrow. I am sure that they have had a great time.

Makayla has been a little board, but her daddy has spent a little extra time with her. Saturday night he took her to dinner then to the movie. I stayed home and slept. It felt good to catch-up on some much needed rest.

The weather here has been so nice. Tuesday, we were all outside enjoying the sunshine it was just perfect short sleeve weather. The kids had a ball riding their bikes. It was nice until Saturday night then we had a strong wind storm and woke-up to snow. Today it is nice again. Oh, how I love the warm weather!

Well, no baby yet. Maybe by next week, but who knows. He seems to be pretty comfortable where he is right now. I think though that if I could get contractions started again he would actually come. Third time is a charm right? I guess that is about all I have for the day. Keep checking back for updates.
