This may sound a little strange to some people, but we just set up thrib for Jaxton. He had been sleeping in the pack-n-play after I moved him out of my room. Let me explain why he hasn't been in the crib until now: when he was younger he learned to push himself with his feet while laying on his back and then he would get himself stuck right against the bars usually in the corner, of the crib and scream until someone rescued him. I even had pads on the sides, but he would pull them over his face. So, I deciced it was safer for him to be in the pack-n-play. Since he can crawl and move around now I decided it was time for him to be in the crib, so this weekend I set it up. I haven't had any problems with him transitioning to a different bed. He appears to like his bigger bed too!

All tuckered out! Friday we spent the day at a friends house and Austin was asleep when we got home. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The girls being funny... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every so often I have those total chaos, crazy moments when all the kids want to do is cry and throw tantrums. The other night we had one of those such moments. Makayla was the only one who wasn't crying, aside from me of course who thought taking pictures of the other kids throwing a fit would be funny. Kelsea, Austin, and Jaxton were crying all at the exact same time. I really have no idea what sparked the tears. Maybe everyone was missing Daddy. (Normally, during these moments I feel like hiding in my closet with my headphones on and my iPod turned up high, of course I don't actually do it.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is Jaxton happy before all the chaos broke out. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another happy picture of Jaxton

Jaxton loves to play the piano. He has finally learned that he can reach the keys by himself and was trying so hard the other night to make some music.

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Nov. 18th was Adam's birthday. He had to work through his birthday so we did a little party for him the other night. The kids sang him "Happy Birthday" then gave him a cute card that when you open it up it says: "We want ice cream! We want ice cream!" in audio. He thought it was really funny and so did the kids. They also gave him the movie WALL*E which we all saw in the theater. Then we all had cookies-n-cream ice cream. Happy Birthday Daddy we love you!

Family Portraits 2008
Make a Smilebox photobook |
Last week we went and had our family portraits done. These are the first family portraits we have done since Jaxton was born. For the most part the whole experience went well. Only one child had issues with smiling, but in the end we managed to find a couple hiding (we bribed Kelsea with ice cream). Afterwards we went and got Dippin' Dots to thank the kids for being so good. I am so happy they are done and I don't have to fight the rush this year and they will back just before Thanksgiving, Yay!

This Little Girl is Amazing!
This video was last year during Britain's Got Talent. 6 year old Connie Talbot amazed everyone in her first audition when she sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." She went on to win the competition and now has a few albums. I love her! Not only is she adorable, but she can really sing. I have added more of her songs in my song playlist at the bottom of my blog. I hope you enjoy her as much as I do.

Tragedy at Our Old Address
Yesterday, my mom informed me that a building in the condo complex, where we used to live in Vernal, caught fire on Monday night. She didn't know which building though. After chatting with a friend who lives in the complex, I learned that the building I lived in was the one that caught on fire. Apparently, the condo next to the one we used to live in was the one that caught fire. No one was seriously injured and we feel bad for the families who lived there as well as the owners of those units. We also feel very blessed that we don't live there anymore. If you want to read the whole story and see a picture follow the link: Fire Destroys Condo in a Fire (Vernal Express)
If you look at the picture, the condo just to the left of the burned unit (near the firetruck), is the one we lived in. You can see the top two windows of our old unit which are the two rooms the kids used to sleep in. Our room was upstairs too but in the back. Talk about scary!

Halloween Fever
Make a Smilebox scrapbook |
I know I am a little slow posting our Halloween, but today I finally have a little bit of time to do some updating. We had a fun Halloween this year. This year Makayla was a fairy, Kelseanja wore the witch costume my mom made for me when I was little, Austin was Buzz Lightyear (no surprise there), and Jaxton wore the mouse costume my mom made for me when I was a baby. (This costume is now a tradition in the family so far me, my brother, both sisters, and all of my kids have all worn the mouse costume. The kids were able to dress-up a few times so it was extra fun. Our ward did a trunk-or-treat, then I taught preschool on Thursday and did a Halloween Party for the kids, then of course Halloween night.
Thursday, Makayla also went on a field trip out to the Pumpkin Patch and was able to pick out her own pumpkin. Unfortunately, when she came home she was not feeling good, so I had her take a nap. When she woke-up she was running a high fever and complaining that her hip hurt her. So, Friday I made her stay home from school and she missed her class party. Makayla was acting better and I hoped she would be able to at least go trick-or-treating, but around 4:30 p.m. she started running a fever again. She was really sleepy and took a nap. I got the other kids ready around 5:30 p.m. and took them around the neighborhood trick-or-treating while Makayla was resting. When I got back, my friend Shelly and her family were at my house and Makayla was acting just fine. Her fever was gone and she really wanted to go trick-or-treating. So, I hurried and got her all dressed-up and we went with Shelly's family to another neighborhood so that all the kids could trick-or-treat. We has so much fun and it was so warm! I definately have to say that it was the warmest Halloween I have ever had. The kids didn't even have jackets on. All of the kids got a lot of candy (which was more than they really needed).
Afterwards, we all went out to eat. About the time that we all finished our dinner, Makayla started to feel bad again so we came home and by the time I had her back on the couch bundled up in blankets she was running a high fever again. I gave her some medicine and babied her all night. Adam was home and after a nap he was able to also help watching her. She continued a similar pattern all weekend where she would be just fine in the morning and throughout most of the day then in the afternoon she would start running a fever again.
Yesterday, we took her into the doctor and the doctor explained that sometimes two to three weeks after a child has a cold, they can get swelling in their joints, but that it could be caused by either a bactiera or a virus. If it was a bacteria infection then it could be eating her bone but a virus wouldn't and it would eventually go away. Either way the swelling is what was causing her fevers. In order to detirmine what was causing her hip to hurt the doctor ordered an x-ray of both Makayla's hips. Luckily, the x-rays showed that she had the virus form and not the bacteria form. So now we basically have to keep Tylonal in her for awhile to keep the swelling down and she can't to anything too streainous to cause her hip to swell or else she will get the high fever again. The doctor said that by this weekend Makayla should be doing a lot better. Yesterday, she didn't run a fever so I sent her to school today. It is early relese day so she should be fine.
Anyway, that is about the excitment for the weekend. Aside from my friend being bucked off her horse and then it stepping on her hand and breaking the exact same finger and bone as Austin did just a little worse than Austin's break. She is banged-up but otherwise doing okay. Yea, it was sort of a crazy weekend, but things have quieted down now.
