A lot has happened since my last post. This last weekend we blessed Jaxton. We had a great turn out and enjoyed seeing the family and friends who came. Thank you everyone for supporting us as well as helping with dinner! Isn't family great! Anyway, Jaxton was very good and slept almost all day. However he didn't want to sleep that night. Yea, another long night for Mommy. On the way home, we saw a hole heard of elk grazing in a field. The kids thought it they were neat!
Saturday night Jaxton got to meet Grandma and Grandpa MacPherson and his aunts Caylee and Mariah. Grandpa Doug couldn't wait to meet his namesake. I know now that we gave Jaxton the right middle name because not only does Jaxton look like his grandpa now, but apparently he looks like his grandpa when his grandpa was a baby. Anyway, the two of them bonded quite well over the weekend. Having grandparents usually means that you get some form of gifts or treats. This is often referred to as spoiling, but I see it as being extra loving. This weekend was no exception from both sets of grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa MacPherson gave the girls these cute little hats which they have been wearing nearly non-stop ever since. Makayla even stuck a large red flower in hers to make it a bit more fancy. They gave Austin a Disney Cars t-shirt, hat, ball, and race car. All of which Austin has not let go of since he came home. He wore his shirt today and wouldn't even change into a pj shirt because he wanted to still wear Lightening McQueen. I may have to invest in some Cars pjs just so I can get his t-shirt washed again. The girls were also each given a necklace from their Grandma Harrop. Not to mention all the hugs and kisses too. Aren't grandparents the sweetest people in the world!
Mommy and Daddy also spoiled Austin a little bit this week. We decided it was time for him to have his own bike. He was ruining his shoes when he rode his little push car so we decided it would be a good investment instead of buying more shoes. Ausitn loves his new bike although he is still trying to figure out how to use the pedals. Maybe Kerrigan (our neighbor girl) can show him how they work. She has a bike just like Austin's except his is red and hers is pink.
While Austin was practicing riding his bike Kelsea and Makayla drew chalk pictures on the driveway. They are becoming quite the little artists.
And while the other kids were occupied riding bikes and drawing, Jaxton was smiling away at Mommy. And Mommy... was taking pictures...

Beautiful Paintings, Bug Jars, and a Little Princess
Makayla painted some lovely pictures at school last week. The first one is a sunflower and the second one is a flower garden. It looks like we have a little artist in the family. I thought that these paintings were just beautiful!
Kelseanja dressed-up like a princess. Her and her sister often dress-up in their princess dresses and dance around. They are fun to watch playing together.
Austin and our little neighbor girl Kerrigan made cute bug jars in nursery on Sunday. Kerrigan spent the weekend with us and loves going to church because she can dress-up in pretty dresses.
Jaxton had a doctor's appointment last week and we learned that he now weighs over 10 pounds. Can you believe how fast he is growing! At his two week appointment he was at 8 pounds and then two-and-a-half weeks later he had gained over two pounds. It is good that he is growing, but I don't think I am ready for my sweet little baby to grow-up so fast. He is now five and a half weeks old.
Adam finally got the desktop computer he has been wanting (Sorry, no picture of him at the new computer.) Anyway, that leaves updates on myself. When I am not dealing with the activities of motherhood, I try to spend a little time doing something I really enjoy--Scrapbooking. Since I don't really have time to pull out all my scrapbook stuff, I decided to try a computer program that has all the templates and embellishments already made. So far I have only been able to spend about two hours working with the program, but I have created about eleven pages. It is so cool! When I get enough pages for a book I can order the book online and have my computer scrapbooks made into a hard bound books. I can also make slide shows with music, interactive e-greeting cards, mini books, or just print the pages out if I want, but I only have to do the layouts once. Maybe this way I can start to get caught-up on my scrapbooking. Yay!
Here is Jaxton after church on the quilt the RS sisters in the ward made. He so handsome in his sweater vest! (Shirt and vest were also gifts from Adam's work).
Well, I also have an announcement. We have decided to bless Jaxton this coming Sunday, April 20th in Vernal, Ut. Sacrament starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Uintah Stake Center and then we will have a lunch right afterward, so those people who are traveling can still have time to get home before dark. Those friends and family members who would like to attend can get a hold of me for more info. Well, I guess that is about it for this post. Have a great week!Monday, April 7, 2008
Happy One Month Old Jaxton!
4-4-08 "Train Tradition"
The little train outfit Jaxton is wearing in this picture was one my brother
Adam wore as a baby. I also have pictures of Austin wearing this
same outfit. Both Adam and Austin were older when they fit into it. I guess you
could say it is a tradition now on the family.

I caught this smile this morning along with two others that
looked pretty much the same as this one.
Our Girls and Our Boys

God made the world with its towering trees,
majestic mountains and restless seas,
then paused and said, "It needs one more thing."
Someone to laugh and dance and sing,
to walk in the woods and gather flowers,
to commune with nature in quiet hours.
So God made little girls
with laughing eyes and bouncing curls,
with joyful hearts, and beautiful smiles,
enchanting ways and feminine wiles.
And when He'd completed the task He'd begun,
he was pleased and proud of the job He'd done.
For the world when seen through a little girl's eyes
greatly resembles paradise.

Little boys come in all shapes and sizes,
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises,
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins,
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.
They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active, and lovable boy!

Jaxton Updates
Jaxton is 3 1/2 weeks old now. It doesn't seem like that much time has passed already. He is doing well and growing. Just the other night I found that he no longer fits some of his pjs. He is getting too long for them. But he is now starting to grow into some bigger clothes which givs us more options when choosing outfits. He has changed so much since he was born. Adam and I have decided that he looks a lot like his Grandpa Doug. So, that also means that we gave Jaxton the right middle name.
Jaxton had several firsts over the past week:
He went on his first trip to Utah over the weekend.
It was also his first long trip (only stopped once).
He met his Grandpa Rob (and listened to Grandpa read Nursery Rhymes).
He met his Uncle Adam .
He met his Great-Grandma Lloy and Great-Grandpa Barney.
He had his first meeting with a dog (just briefly).
He had his first major blowout (the undershirt will never be the same again).
He had his first diaper changed by someone other than Mommy since coming home from the hospital.
And he visited the neighbors for the first time and met Kerrigan who is much softer than Austin, but still thought Jaxton should be able to ride in her doll stroller. (Kerrigan is our 2 1/2 year old neighbor girl who plays at our house a lot.)
Some of Jaxton's likes are:
He likes taking baths (almost goes to sleep during baths)
He likes eating (nursing and bottle)
He likes sleeping (with noises)
He likes be held and cuddled
He likes being rocked
He is starting to like his swing more
He likes car rides
And he likes dancing with Mommy
Adam's work gave Jaxton several outfits that are just adorable. Here are a couple.
In a previous post I mentioned that I loved it when Jaxton smiles. Well, my mom caught one of those precious smiles (just before Easter.) I love this picture!

Bubbles! Bubbles! Bubbles!
My kids love Bubbles! Okay, who doesn't? Bubbles are one of those things that most people can't resist no matter how old they are. I still like blowing bubbles. Anyway, my mom gave the kids scented bubbles for Easter and they loved them! Although, I don't understand the reasoning behind manufacturing scented bubbles. It is like producing crayons with food names. Kids always taste things that have good scents or yummy sounding names. Of course there are those kids, like Austin, who will taste just about anything no matter what it smells like or what name is on the label. So far this Spring, he has learned that sidewalk chalk and play-dough are both yucky even after a second or third taste! As for the girls, they like to take turns blowing bubbles then they try to catch the bubbles. Makayla is learning how to blow really big bubbles. While Kelsea has learned how to make more bubbles when hers get spilled. And Mommy has learned to keep a close eye on her dish soap when then kids are blowing bubbles or for some reason, it disappears.
